I think, a microphone would say, "Why don't anybody talk to me?" while a speaker would ask, "Why don't anybody listen to me?"
Hi guys. You're coming in loud and clear.
The idea is that the microphone doesn't know his purpose and therefore can't understand why everybody talks at him and nobody listens. At least, that's my idea. Of course you're welcome to have your own ideas about it - and it's interesting to hear them, so thanks for your comments!
