Ronald Searle’s 89th birthday on Tuesday. This is ‘Gemini’ from his 1977 series called ‘Zoodiac’ – fantastic idea, beautifully drawn. It’s from a French anthology ’45 Ans de Dessins’ published in 1984. There’s a
tribute blog by Matt Jones that’s worth a look.
Apart from the creative idea, Searle’s three requirements for success are working discipline, absolute command of the medium and constant productivity. Crikey – I thought you just had to
