-I like all of your stuff, not least this one. There are some strong concepts amongst them, and I like the work ethics behind one fresh idea per day.

One other thing, though. I remember an interview of Travis by Ali G that sums up something I think: Ali asks Travis why everyhting he does has to be so fxxxxxg miserable.Clearly, you have fun and playful stuff too, but on balance it is melancholic. That is fine if that's what you want, but if it isn't then someone should tell you.

yes i think he heard that before.. but i doubt if he cares..(do you?)

anyway it must be tough going to come up with at least one melancholic idea per day;-)

Thanks for your interesting comments. I've been thinking about this and don't really know how to reply.
I'm tempted to give my favourite quote from Terminator, where Oven-ready Arnie goes into a gunshop and asks for some sort of plasma rifle, and the guy behind the counter says "Hey, just what you see pal!"
On the other hand it's true that I'm a miserable old fart. I have difficulty with people who are relentlessly happy - how can they not see what's going on? Ionesco said (another quote): "To attack the absurdity of the human condition is a way of stating the possibility of a non-absurdity... Nothing makes me more pessimistic than the obligation not to be pessimistic. I feel that every message of despair is the statement of a situation from which everybody must freely try to find a way out." which is all a bit highfalutin but seems like a good excuse.
Apart from that humour is often at it's best when it's rooted in sadness - look at Buster Keaton.
All of which means: "Just what you see pal!"

I've only discovered your work today but I'm really impressed with it. It is a breath of fresh air, very witty and very clever at the same time. Great work!

Thanks Michelle, and thanks for your post about Non-stick on www.haveyouheardabout.co.uk.
I'm planning(!) to do a list of links (when I've worked out how to do it) and I'll put you on it.
